Pros

The residents are the best thing about this place, the ground level employees really care, the residents are amazing to work with and support.

Cons

I was in a high leadership role here, and they 100% lead by fear. HR is ONLY for the companies best interests, leadership here is soul crushing, anyone who stays is because they care but to there own detriment, The two leaders at the top have little care for the residents (hardest part to working here for me) the lovely residents are just a number to them, I get that its a business but you better not cross the two at the top, they will only cover each other and leave a trail of bodies behind them, the only reason I am even warning you is so you don't get over worked and taken advantage of, this is not a work place of inclusion, the leadership team meets every morning and goes over the residents that had frustrated or angered them and how to stay away from them, it's a sad cycle and even many of the residents who put there hearts into this place are left feeling sad and alone to many times. I digress, work here at your own risk (leave your soul at the door - they will destroys your ethics).

Pros

Summit Vista has a great culture and an environment that allows you to be a part of the decision making process. They are always working towards being better and communicate effectively with the staff. They also find ways to fight for their front line employees. They have truly listened to their staff every year and it has helped make this a great place to work. They have increased the paid days off we get based on survey results and even made market adjustments to make sure the staff are paid a fair wage. It's the best job I have ever had because the people you get to work with truly make it fun to be here everyday. Also, you get to develop amazing connections with the residents everyday. It is truly rewarding.

Cons

It is a hard job. there are a lot of moving parts. Never a dull moment, but the hard work means something. You truly feel valued and that your hard work is for a purpose.

Pros

Facility itself is large, well kept and has a nice atmosphere.

Cons

I interviewed with three members of the team for an RN position. The three employees included a staffing coordinator and two ADONs. The staffing coordinator was the nicest out of the three but was not particularly welcoming either. Throughout my interview, the two ADONs degraded my experience, intelligence and capability to perform the job. Both of them acted like it was a complete burden to interview me. No positive energy, no smiling, not even an introduction of themselves. You are better off pursuing other facilities that are happy to have you there and have the desire to learn more about you and what you have to offer. The leadership at this facility lacks that ability completely. If they acted this way during the interview process, I can't even begin to imagine the way they treat their actual employees. Save your breath and time and apply elsewhere. Disappointing experience to say the least.
