Pros

- Good compensation and benefits - Financially stable company - Good people at working level - Flexible work from home arrangements

Cons

- Leaders don't walk the talk. Lots of nice speaches on things like work life balance and caring for employees' wellness, but the reality is that leaders only care about what you deliver and put a lot of pressure. - Lots of overtime at the professional level, without much recognition. It's expected that you'll work 24/7, including weekends. - Managers care about results, not people. Only think short term deliverables to make them look good and not long term value. - Toxic environment and culture in many parts of the company. - The HR story is nice but isn't delivered by both leaders (with some exceptions) and HR itself. - Many members of senior management have big egos and only care about their own personal interests and image.

Pros

Sun Life provides competitive benefits, remote work opportunities, and the chance to work alongside knowledgeable professionals. The company offers strong learning opportunities within the disability and leave management space.

Cons

Staffing reductions and increasing workloads have made it difficult for some teams to maintain service levels while preserving employee well-being. Leadership communication and support can vary by department.
