Pros
They take safety very seriously,
Cons
The management will not hesitate to throw you under the bus, Tell you what you want to hear just to please you, and expect you to do more then your job entails for less money then the industry standard. The incompetent management at my location promised a fair wage, but had to wait for raise time, Raise time comes around still will not hold up to their end of the bargain. They have too many employees driving around in company trucks making up rules and regulations that are absurd and is clear that they have never walked in the same shoes. No one is held accountable. There is absolutely no control and it is a free for all most of the time with employees doing whatever they want, It is not uncommon for equipment to sit there for days and weeks on end without anyone looking at it, or ordering parts. Something the manager should be... Managing. The only one getting anything done reasonably in this shop are the select one or two employees holding themselves accountable and are the only thing holding this location together. The branch manager leaves you alone for the most part and is not hard to work for, However he is an impulsive liar and will make up rules on the spot and tell you what you want to hear in order to make for a short discussion. He will tell you one thing and never do his part to make it happen. The rules that he makes up stand for that moment and that moment only, He will never admit to being wrong about it. The next time you bring up the "rule" it no longer applies and he claims that was never said. More concerning, he makes perverted comments regularly. Though it does not bother me, I am very surprised that he has not been reported for them by others that have worked with him over the years. They take safety very seriously, They will provide almost anything needed to promote a safe work enjoinment, However when it comes to items or equipment needed to do the job they will cheap out and pinch pennies going against the company standard. They will promise you overtime, you will get used to a schedule and paycheck and then come out of the blue and cut your hours down, During slow seasons and months. They will still expect you to work long days, weekends, and over night on call but will send you home early to manage your hours during these times. They do NOT care about your home work life balance and fully expect you to fall in line and work when they tell you to. They deny this being an issues with employees yet anyone you talk to is disgruntled about the situation and they do nothing to fix it. This location has one of the highest turnover rates of employees i have ever seen in a workplace, And the answer why is simple. The management. I do not regret leaving Sunbelt Rentals, However these issues have been brought up, And ignored by branch level management leaving no other option. Lastly the HR department couldn't care less about your issues, Nor the district manager.
