Pros
Going through the training and teaching will make you comfortable speaking in front of a group. I made lifelong friendships with the people in my class.
Cons
Agree with other comments. It would be impossible to make a living from the wages you are paid. The training was $4,000 and the first 50 hours of classes you teach are free. At that point, you are paid $15 an hour so it takes a very long time to get into the black. One of the owners injured my shoulder when providing an adjustment in training, not understanding my own personal anatomy. The environment in training is cult like but I assume that many yoga trainings are similar. When you graduate, you are ready to teach at Sunstone, but would not be equipped to teach elsewhere. There is no focus on putting together sequences. The move to fitness based classes is a mistake. Survey comments are available for all teachers to see and they are brutal. My final comment is about the assessment process. It is time consuming for someone who teaches part time. I decided to quit after many years of teaching because I didn’t want to be reassessed.
