Gender bias The women work in fabric and home and the men work in tools and auto plus the store has a split in half feel to it aka hardware in the right isles and crafts in the left isles When I started there the women were expected to clean both bathrooms and vacuum while the men were never asked to do these tasks during closing. After I complained, management did add men to the rotation but with less frequency. Extremely low starting wage with no interest in wage increases based on performance and knowledge. If you are savvy with customers and knowledgeable about products you will be given more work than others without receiving a pay difference.
