Pros

The technical depth is solid, and when you’re aligned with the right individuals, you can learn a lot and move things forward quickly.

Cons

Structure and clarity can be a bit… let’s say flexible. You’ll often find yourself relying on asking around rather than looking things up. That can slow things down more than you’d like. Processes around deployment, permissions, and ownership are uneven, and in practice a lot of it sits with a small number of long-standing team members. When they’re busy, work just backs up - simple as that. A good chunk of key workflows are still run through these individuals and informal channels rather than being properly documented or distributed across the team. So delivery speed often comes down to availability of a few people rather than a clear, well-defined process. Communication across key parts of the projects and the wider organization is also inconsistent, particularly around ownership, expectations, and decision-making. This adds to delays and confusion, often resulting in rework. Turnover tends to be higher than it should be, as people struggle with lack of continuity, unclear ownership, and the amount of implicit knowledge required to be effective.
