All Staff are diligently working to solve the issue of poverty and make their corner of the world a better place.
Excellent support from management.
Genuine concern for the best interests of staff and clients
Teammebers work with each other and support each other.
Generous staff that do all they can to see you and our clientele succeed.
Cons
This isn't a criticism of Switchpoint but it is just the nature of the beast when trying to help those in poverty where many are stuck in the cycle of addiction or have mental illness. Patience and understanding is needed even when a client is lashing out. The job of Resident Manager requires you keep a cool and calm demeanor and to be firm and fair holding clients responsible but in a kind and respectful way. This takes diplomatic skills.
The mission itself can feel meaningful especially when you engage with residents.
Field promotions...
Cons
Poor work life balance.
Culture that discourages honest feedback.
Leadership structure is rigid and a clique.
Burnout is normalized
Benefits and support do not match the demands of the job
Field promotions since everyone you know will be fired or quit. You will get a promotion but the pay is peanuts compared to what the job entails no matter the role.
