Pros

- never stuck on one project for very long, regularly working on (and learning from) something new - engineers have a lot of say into how features are developed & are empowered to propose new ones - managers are empowered to advocate for their direct reports - efforts to promote diversity and inclusion are strong - regular meetups with colleagues (not mandatory, but certainly fun)

Cons

- loss of transparency in recent months around people being let go or restructured out of the company (as of March 2025) - easy to burn out with increased pressure to release new products on a given timeline

Pros

Individual engineers are driven, knowledgeable, and genuinely a joy to work with and learn from, and managers are solid across the board. While there's legacy code and tech debt, there's been a concerted effort to migrate to and maintain modern standards.

Cons

Syncro reached that phase of growth where delivery is prioritized over employee needs, with too much work allocated across too few people. Also, no clear trajectory for promotion or earning raises. After pushing myself for months, I was laid off because the company leaders couldn't sustain our growth trajectory.
