Pros
Good benefits, stable employment, they don't fire you no matter how slack your work ethic is.
Cons
Lack of leadership: Many want to protect their positions and not willing to think outside the box. Some of these folks need to be trained and no one is doing that. They need better people skills. Some can’t even complete basic Excel items. President should be leading charge but he doesn’t know anything about the amount of politics and it’s hard to understand him. Many people just brush him off and feed him bull. We need an American President, someone who speaks the language, knows the culture and is a product of TACG. Somebody with some ethics and integrity too not just someone looking out for themselves. Favoritism and incompetence in office: The appraisal system here is garbage. They grade you on stuff that has nothing to do with your job and it’s a numbers game for management. Some managers give their people high marks across the board while others ding you on foolishness but heap praise on themselves or cronies. They have had the same opening for an Environmental person for over two years and still not filled, very incompetent. Too much backbiting and gossip in office: Lack of teamwork and people looking to one up the next person. Surprising how many managers will openly bad mouth another one. Bonus is a joke: Normally twice a year; almost always less than a grand. Even less after taxes. No appreciation for Associates: Billion dollar company and the best they can do is donuts and two lunches a year. Michigan plant people get way more: better compensation, pension and parties. They barely do anything in the community here either. Somebody needs to fix this. Company’s been here for 13 years now and still stingy. They tell you no budget but turn around and hire three people to change a light bulb. It’s a game: Overtime rules are a joke so you have people play the system and work on Holidays or twiddle their thumbs through the week. Also, some people play the disappearing act where no one knows where they are and they turn up at the end of the day to clock out. ADP is mess and not getting better: They rolled out this new system and it’s been nothing but a mess. Who’s even in charge anymore nobody knows. Was supposed to be a big improvement over old system but it’s been nothing but a mess. HR was in charge and talked about all this training we were going to get. Now it’s like just learn on your own. Lack of moving up in many departments: There are some hard working people who have moved up but it’s sickening when people get promoted because they threaten to leave or because manager has pets. There is no litmus test on how they promote some of these people to Supervisor. Not Toyota culture: The T in the names stands for Toyota but it is not the culture here. It’s more a ‘me’ culture as opposed to the principals that have made Toyota a successful brand through the years. Only company I’ve worked at where you can be off four days and not get a talk about it. Minimal effort to retain good talent: Seen some really good, dedicated people leave this place over the past two years and there is nothing being done to keep talent.
