Pros

-Passionate therapists, mental health techs and diet techs. -Good insurance -Gain experience with DBT and high-acuity patients

Cons

-Lack of transparency, honesty and compassion from management. Expect two-faced, dishonest, money-hungry leadership who will not have your back when you need it or ask for it. -Overworked and under paid for working with high-acuity patients in an intense setting. Expect your mental health to suffer as you are told to overwork yourself and provided with minimal support along the way. Expect your requests for PTO to be questioned and/or denied. -Patient care taken out of the hands of the therapist. Expect the therapist's clinical judgement and expertise to be ignored and dismissed. -THIRA preaches DBT without actually training therapists in how to administrator to fidelity. Expect to be teaching DBT groups without ANY training on how to do so effectively in your second week of work. -Constant, thoughtless changes that negatively impact patients and employees alike. Expect changes to happen constantly, often without explanation, and on extremely short notice. Expect to not have control over your schedule and to be picking up the pieces when the changes made cause chaos. -The profit THIRA makes is ALWAYS the bottom line. Expect that profit will come before compassionate and ethical patient care as well as employee wellness. -Extremely high turnover. Expect a short stay of employment at THIRA, as the work environment is impossible to remain in long-term.

Thank you for your feedback about your experience at THIRA. We are happy to hear you enjoyed your time working with the multidisciplinary team and practicing DBT with our patient population! We feel very lucky to have a team of such supportive and driven providers to collaborate with and care for our patients. As such, we value the quality of care for our patients above all and we’re sorry hear that was not your experience. We believe in continuous improvement and invite you to discuss this matter with us at HR@thirahealth.com

Pros

NOTE: Mehri Moore is unfortunately no longer the CEO. Coworkers are great- that’s it.

Cons

When Thira was a freestanding entity, it was an incredible place to work. It was bought out by corporate, and it quickly went downhill. What used to be a warm, trusting, collegial environment has become one in which management smiles to your face and stabs you in the back as soon as you turn around. There are no clear expectations, management is uncaring and completely unresponsive to employee concern (despite the “open door” policy they so proudly and constantly announce), they underpay and overwork clinicians who are working with extremely high needs individuals. Patient care was once at the forefront - now it seems that the only thing that really matters is money (how much they can make for the company and how little they can pay their employees). If you interview here, ask them about their employee turnover. Ask what percentage of their employees have been hired in the last year, and what percentage has been there for more than two years.
