Promotions without support or training to help you in your new role or responsibilities. When billable work is low, instead of laying you off, they furlough you, string you along for a month, 3 months, up to 6 months, so that you have to find a new job and you are technically quitting, so that they don't have to give you severance. Pretty small and petty to save some money. They say it's the "softer" way to let staff go.
