Pros
- Pay is good, lots of bonus opportunities - Always hiring - Positive public image
Cons
- Non-existent training program ~ They sent me to Taiwan for training, but had no training program, designated trainers for Americans, or willingness to train US-hires unless our own managers were breathing down their necks. - Mildly racist ~ They believe all Americans are lazy, even the ones with initiative asking to be a bigger part of the company without asking for a raise or promotion. - No trust in American hires ~ every American in my department was required to take photos to prove that we were performing our assigned duties. - Look busy, don't actually be busy ~ Management put more emphasis on the appearance of productivity than actually being productive. Better make that 30 minute task last at least 4 hours. - Not willing to adapt ~ Taiwanese assignees had no desire or willingness to adapt to US culture and business regulations, and would rather attempt to belittle, insult, and humiliate both their own employees and the construction workers building their facility.
