Pros

The only pro was the ability to work remotely.

Cons

Leadership will ask and expect new hires to be entirely on their own in terms of business development/finding leads. Meanwhile, leads via the founder or marketing team are doled out to favorites that have been there for years, allowing them to simply be assigned to searches rather than do any actual business development work themselves. It was a running observation from our team lead that individual contributors had much higher business development activity numbers than they did, so it's well known throughout the firm that leadership does not lead by example in this manner. In fact, someone was recently promoted to a VP-level client engagement position without ever having brought on even a single new client to the firm, ever, in their many years with the company. How does that happen? They've let go of many, many great recruiters over and past year or so if they aren't considered favorites, despite their higher business development activity than anyone else on the team. They let go of just one person at a time to avoid calling it a layoff, even though that's what it is. Every person who has been let go and subsequently files for unemployment has had their unemployment benefits challenged by Talentfoot through the unemployment office, for completely false firing reasons such as "misconduct." This seems really shady and unethical.

Pros

Exceptional culture that is like a breath of fresh air in this industry! Talented people, competitive spirit but not cutthroat. Incredibly smart, creative, and involved CEO who cares about the team and invests back into the business. Great marketing team that generates leads and thought leadership for inbound, while hunting for your own business is still encouraged. I've never felt as supported and appreciated for my talent and ability while still being pushed to improve and up my game.

Cons

This isn't the place for people who need constant support, check-ins, or structure. This isn't a con for me, I thrive when I'm trusted to do my job and use my experience, but if you're coming from a big firm, it is an adjustment.

Pros

I have been at Talentfoot for over 3 years. In this company I am treated like a professional and trusted to do my job on a somewhat flexible schedule allowing me to take care of myself and my family while also having a career I can take pride in. The revenue goals are clear, paths to promotions are laid out transparently so there is no subjectivity in earning bonuses or promotions. Team members are supportive; it is not a cutthroat environment and colleagues support one another's wins. In terms of the work, the emphasis is on quality, providing high levels of service to clients, caring about candidates, etc. as opposed to cranking out some number of cold calls that don't translate to success necessarily. The company is small which I like, and most colleagues try to get to know one another despite being fully remote. Leadership is accessible and tries to motivate and reward us for our hard work frequently, making me feel valued.

Cons

Being fully remote could potentially be a negative for some, especially if you don't have a comfortable environment to work from your home or you thrive on in-person collaboration. I have had a very positive experience working from home, fortunately.
