Although there are definitely perks to working here, the cons far outweigh the pros. When I worked here I experienced bullying and gossip. This is just a number of people - majority of people that work here are great, but some particular people here are bullies. There was no official HR department at the time (which is very strange considering the size of the company) so you cannot officially voice your concerns here. Work-life balance is terrible: you get 10 annual days (brought up to 15 days after THREE YEARS of working here...wow - someone give TallGrass a medal) of leave and the office remains open at Christmas. The CEO announces 1 extra day of vacation at Christmas at the town hall like he is giving everyone a million dollars - it is laughable. People seem to be scared to take vacation for anything longer than a few days. It was hard to even get a half day approved by certain managers, although I know some managers are more lenient, so it depends on what department you are in. Micro-managing with time schedules existed (pre-covid) - hours were 8.30am to 5 pm, and with certain managers, if you were any way outside of these hours you would be chastised. Also a culture of working overtime exists - I remember hearing the CEO remark on people that would leave at 5 pm, in quite a sneering way. Employees should be able to work set hours without being expected to stay longer, just because this is the ''culture'' - people have lives and responsibilities outside of the workplace! When I worked here, you also got a mere 3 sicks days a year, and certain managers would make you feel guilty for taking a sick day. Talk about ''wellness''! Staff here really are infantilized and not giving autonomy by certain (not all) managers.
