Pros

You get to work with some big clients that are good for your portfolio. Training budget available for you to learn some new skills.

Cons

This role took a huge toll on my mental health. The whole culture is built to serve the higher ups, or the favourites (which you'll quickly know if you are). You regularly won't get lunch breaks and are lucky if you ever finish on time. Expected to work late or log on on weekends with no thanks or appreciation. Due to the work mobile, you will be expected to be contactable 24/7, sometimes even during annual leave. Agency work generally is busy, yes, but a complete lack of work life balance is unhealthy. Blame culture is strong, it's always pushed down onto the lower roles if something goes wrong, and credit is often only give to seniors.

Pros

Tangerine is split in two teams, the consumer team and the B2B team. The B2B team was full of smart, organised, hard working and fun people. I can't speak to the consumer team but I've heard they were not as nice or friendly. Upper management works hard to ensure lower level employees are heard and supported. There are lots of training programmes in place. One of the best things about working there was the minimum retainer fee.

Cons

Considering the number of awards and strong financial performance of the company, salaries should be higher.

Pros

Overall the agency has great people working there and there are no problems between peers at the same level. The breadth of clients is great, and the studio and creative teams are really collaborative. There have been some great hires at AD levels, and there is lots to learn from them as they have come from really well respected agencies. The agency is situated at a good end of town for traffic and parking and Sue on reception is a real un-sung hero of the agency.

Cons

The senior leadership from CEO to BD are really chaotic and there isn't a uniformed way of them managing or leading the agency. They have a last min approach to everything, which causes them to be curt, snippy and expect work to be delivered last min, when with better planning there doesn't need to be such chaos. Consumer has really specific issues with 1-2 of the BD's being super rude and dismissive, but they know how to operate with the CEO's so they get away with bad behaviour, lateness and just overall poor management. As I learned the business used to be a lot smaller and the very senior management have been there a long time, I don't think that there is anyone there with the experience to really lead some of the size of account teams and the CEO's don't seem to see the problems as they are out of the business a lot.
