Pros
Small setting with great opportunities to learn if you have never worked in healthcare. Many of the middle level managers care and fight for their team.
Cons
The organization talks a lot about employee engagement but the truth of the matter is they do not engage us. Decisions that impact and effect our work are made and the changes and demands are made with what seems to be very little to no input from the staff. Senior leaders are clueless and disconnected from those who really do the work. They seem to care more about how the organization looks on paper than how the organization is truly performing. The culture is not conducive to change or growth. Excuses are made when people don't do their jobs and there is no accountability. Diversity is lacking to say the least.
