Pros

Beer, ping pong, coffee machine, relaxed work environment. Always able to stay busy and everyone at work was nice and welcoming. Management was very accommodating when taking time off. Decent benefits

Cons

Management is not focused leading to no direction. Strategy seems to be very unclear and departments are not cohesive. Very poor IT infrastructure prevented a great deal of productivity. It was extremely slow and crashed almost daily.

Pros

Coworkers are awesome, it's not unusual for us to hangout outside of work. It's fun to work in the beer/alcohol industry.

Cons

- Head of the company fails to listen to employee needs, and says very off-putting things. - The micromanaging kept getting worse and worse and made employees feel like they can't be trusted, even after years of working there. Owner is convinced employees don't do their jobs are tries to find reasons to affirm his beliefs. - Job security is not guaranteed, especially to long-time workers. Owner will cut your position to save money and rehire right out of college. Also, if you said or did something to upset him, you're out without a moments notice. - Salary is okay for Seattle but not enough to live comfortably. - Company culture kept disintegrating as owner kept taking away freedoms as he saw fit.

Thank you for taking the time to share this. The transition from Seattle to Austin was a hard one, and we know it was harder still for team members who chose not to relocate. The company you describe is one we have worked deliberately to leave behind. We learned that running a company largely on remote work, with management disconnected from the day-to-day, did not serve our people or our customers well. In Austin and Barcelona we are building something different: an in-person, design-forward company where the work is visible, the expectations are clear, and good performance is recognized and rewarded. We are grateful for the strong friendships that came out of those years — many of them have lasted — and we wish every former teammate well.
