Pros
Good working environment and staff are very supportive of each other. Strong focus on safety, with regular training in this area. Initiatives for employee feedback are provided. State-wide organisation provides opportunities for work you do not get with smaller companies.
Cons
Career progression is promised, but appears unachievable despite increasing skills and initiative. In my time here I have not known anyone to be promoted, only successfully apply for a new or vacated position. Some very qualified and experienced people work beyond their positions, at the company’s benefit, to the detriment of their own self-worth. Executive vs Staff and rumour culture has developed since merger. Due to a lack of transparency, consultancy and communication around management decisions and direction. Continued dissatisfaction from the public due to misunderstanding benefits organisation delivers to community and realistic costing compared to the past. That is, rejuvenating an inherited non-compliant infrastructure across the state and sustainably making all of it compliant.
