Ted Todd Insurance Response
5yThank you for your review,
I want to address some of the issues in this review, and express that we’re disappointed that you didn’t feel we provided an exemplary employee experience. We work hard to engage our employees, and use their feedback to improve, and while you are no longer an employee, we will take your feedback to heart.
Our marketing efforts consist of several funnels, and one of the larger one is leads. These leads range from 1 minute old to 90 days old, however 85% of the leads that are being called are less than 5 days old. We buy roughly 20-30 leads per day per producer along with sending direct mail, generating leads through digital marketing funnels, and provide each producer with several other sources of business. While we do expect people to make 50-200 outbound calls per day (as we always explain in the interview process and clearly list on the job description), these calls are always warm in the sense that they are either shopping, or have shopped with us in the past. We have 50-70 data points on each prospect, and you’re not calling from a phone book. While this may not be for everyone, we strive to provide more marketing and more technological tools than almost every other agent we’ve encountered.
In an agent’s first 90 days, we are very hands on to ensure that training is adequate for all our employees. While some people don’t like the level of attention our managers pay to new hires, we’ve found this increased level of training has improved turnover, employee engagement, and has drastically reduced how long it takes for someone to start selling enough to earn bonuses. We require all of our agents to work 40 hours per week, give PTO (9 days your first year, 15 days your second year), and do not require any agents to work beyond the 40 hour mark (though some choose to do so on their own to earn more bonuses). In terms of work-life balance, we believe we provide a great experience allowing agents to work remotely, from 8:30pm to 6pm with 1 hour for lunch.
As for growth opportunities being non-existent, that is inherently false. All but one of our managers in the company has been a salesperson or a customer service person at some point and has worked their way up. We offer $5,250 per year for education, and actively engage in creating career development plans with our employees.
We apologize that our benefits were not up to par with your requirements. We feel that our options for Health Insurance are affordable ($40 per month for a high deductible plan with HSA, and $180 per month for a low deductible, low copay PPO ), our quality of life stipend is unique, and that our benefits package as a whole is on par with a Fortune 500 company, and vastly outperforms the average small business.
I’m sure I’m leaving some of the issues out, but I’m surprised and disappointed to hear that your experience was so poor. I will be reviewing the exit interviews with HR to learn how we can improve. We wish you best of luck in your future endeavors.
