Pros
1. The coworkers are amazing. Tethers did a great job recruiting some amazing and very smart people. There was a real sense of camaraderie and support among the team and that really stood out compared to past places I've worked. 2. Some of the projects are really cool and unique, and you get to touch real hardware.
Cons
1. TUI was acquired by ARKA and that really shifted the tone of the company. Now it's mostly run by formerly Danbury Mission Technology people who are the classic incompetent cost plus old space upper managers who don't know how to actually build things. They're the ones that screwed up Hubble! 2. Pay and benefits... As part of the merger vacation got reduced by a week, our retirement contributions were reduced and our bonuses went from 10% to like 2%. Base salary is average to begin with but management actively complains that the engineers are overpaid... 3. Tethers openly lies to customers about our products capabilities and development status, and then acts surprised when all our projects are behind schedule and over budget because we're trying to get cobbled together prototypes working when the schedule assumes these are "COTS"
