Good benefits, poor upper management - Software Engineer The Adaptavist Group Employee Review

Pros

Benefits are amazing, my team is great to work with, and I have a supportive manager that isn't afraid to push back against difficult leadership.

Cons

Leadership has gotten significantly less transparent and harder to work with throughout time. Decisions do not seem to be being made in a timely manner, or at all - which is effecting business day to day and staff moral. I love the team I'm on and tbe products we create, but I fear for the future of the company if we continue with this approach.

Thank you for your feedback and for your long-standing contribution to TAG. We’re pleased to hear you value your team and manager. We recognise your concerns around transparency and decision-making. As TAG has grown, the way we operate has naturally evolved, and we understand that this can feel challenging at times. There is a significant amount of work underway to improve communication, alignment, and leadership visibility — even if that isn’t always immediately visible across the organisation. We appreciate your honesty and ongoing commitment, and feedback like this is important as we continue to evolve. — The TAG Team

Pros

The team or department you work in does make a difference in your experience at The Adaptavist Group. That said, I have found it to be an incredible company to work for, with a CEO who listens to and cares for everyone at the company. I have found diversity and differences to be celebrated and supported. Work/life balance is prioritized; generally, the culture is supportive and kind. Thus far we have managed to avoid a lot of the "corporate" culture that wouldn't be unreasonable to find in an organization as large as Adaptavist. And the unlimited leave policy isn't a trick to make people work more and take less leave, as I've heard it is at some companies. There is also a lot of focus on giving back, supporting non-profits and charities, and generally lending a helping hand either physically or financially which I find truly encouraging and heartwarming.

Cons

Depending on the team/manager and their past experiences, some of that "corporate" rules-first attitude can sneak into teams and we don't always do the best at weeding it out--We are still figuring out how to be a company of over 1,000 people and some teams feel it more than others. Our UK gender pay gap report was not impressive and we are still waiting to hear on the more global report. The US benefits/insurance situation has improved in recent years but there is still room for further improvements.
