They are facing growing pains. Being born from a small company which relied on consultancy work to survive, they have not quite realised that they are a software company and should act as such. There is still an air of manager b.s. around which filters into the hiring process this coupled with the accepting culture, means that these managers who do the hiring and who aren't rational thinkers themselves, nor native to a progressive mindset, mistake thinking irrationally for diversity, it is not. I have had conversations with people who believe in acupuncture, alternative therapy and positive vibrations. This leads to a drastic difference in culture, quality, and output between teams.
