- No cost of living raises or merit based raises for anyone that’s not an executive, which is why turnover is extremely high
- Upper management will sell you on ideas that may or may not come true to keep you around
- Middle managers have their work ethic and kindness taken advantage of, as well as constantly being overshadowed by sales because “sales is king” no matter how well you run a club
- Sales we’re often told are king and when you get a sale it’s not “congratulations” instead it’s “what’s next in your pipeline”
- 2x per year dues increases make it hard on sales people to sell and keep sales and even harder on frontline staff who have to answer for it but have no control over the decisions
- 2500-5000 employees on your payroll working really hard but 20 college kids who are all interns get to have memorable experiences while us frontline and middle management employees continue to take hits from members about dues increases and lack of amenities (in some locations, some are outstanding)
