Pros
- Being a Microsoft studio, the facilities and pay are above average. - Most of the time, the schedule is extremely relaxing and stress free. - The studio is generous when it comes to purchasing tools for the job. - The IP has alot of potential and room for growth.
Cons
- Things generally take much longer than needed to get done. Not at the fault of the worker, but the drawn out review process. A classic case of having too many cooks in the kitchen. On the practical side, huge budget and time drain. On the personal side, morale takes a hit and people loses ownership to their work. - The culture promotes laziness. The studio is known as a retirement home for a reason. People in leads and management roles holds the very limited full-time positions. Often times, their vision, skills, and efficiency are either outdated, or held back by the giant corporation of Microsoft. - Extremely corporate. - Contractors are given short contracts each time, while still obeying non-competition clauses. - Lack of innovation on most fronts.
