Pros

The Frontier Project, an innovation, strategy consulting firm located in Richmond, VA was set to be a great, world class consulting firm. The company is forward thinking and has helped many clients succeed in their engaged endeavors.

Cons

A few crucial business decisions, namely the decision of the CEO to not remove the founder of the company after a harassment claim was brought to light, have set it on a path to become an incubator for sexual harassment and verbal abuse rather than ideas. During my tenure at the firm, I bore witness to countless advances, off color comments, verbal abuses and other harassing behavior by the founder. Ultimately, he was the reason I, and many others, have chosen to leave the firm. His determination to become successful knows no bounds in how he treats his employees and clients.

Pros

I love The Frontier Project portfolio of companies. It's a work environment where I am encouraged to challenge myself to be my best self. We are a -- practice what you preach -- environment so when we ask our clients to be agile, we ask each other to be agile. When we ask our clients to have courage to try new things, we ask each other to have courage to try new things. When we ask our clients to challenge their habits and rethink their purpose, we ask each other to challenge our habits and rethink our purpose. It's an incredible place where I use my brain and think harder and differently everyday. This place has literally made me smarter and I am forever grateful for that gift.

Cons

Our company encourages autonomy and is deliverable driven. In order to thrive here you have to be able to know how to drive yourself forward, self manage your time (meaning protect it too), and be insanely open to giving and receiving constant feedback. Though that may not sound like a con, but I think for many people it is. You can't hide here and fly under the radar. So if you don't have a lot of self confidence and stamina in the face of change this environment can be very hard to be in for an extended period time.
