Base salary for software sales is well below the national average. All sales staff had their base salary cut in half in 2021. Commissions are not paid out according to the written agreement. Commissions are paid out over time and at a rate that may be different than what is in the contract. Female sales staff are paid up to 5K less than their male counterparts that they outsell. Commissions the owner deems are inappropriate may be deducted from your pay up to seven months after they were originally paid out. This is at the owner’s discretion even though it is not in the employee’s written agreement.
