Pros
- The actual work you're doing and your ability to impact the lives of amazing young people is unlike any other job. Watching TKS students grow is amazing! - The schedule is insanely flexible. Working at TKS is like adopting a new life-style and it allows the flexibility of fitting in all the things you want to do. - You'll work with a team of exceptional people. Everyone at TKS is crazy growth-oriented and just generally awesome. Even though your connection will be almost exclusively virtual, you couldn't ask for a better group of coworkers. - Everyone has a voice. At TKS you'll have a ton of autonomy and a platform to contribute not only to the growth and direction of your city, but the entire program.
Cons
- It's a start-up. There are no benefits and policies are still being formed. There isn't a clear path for advancement within the company. There's rapid change/growth and constant iteration, so there's some growing pains. - There's no real 'off' time. You're committing to being a role model and support person for a large group of students. It's important for the students that you're accessible around their schedule (weekends, evenings) and easy to reach. So you can hit up that 10am yoga class now, but you'll also be messaging students and listening to podcasts while you're on vacation.
