Pros

The general staff are excellent to work with i.e. cleaning, security etc. Nice environment with a modern shopping centre.

Cons

You couldn't find a more useless and archaic higher management than Blackburn, it switches from totalitarian to overwhelming false joy in style in the blink of an eye. The entire workforce live on a knife edge. Despite this there is a thinly veiled attempt at showing interest in people and compassion for peoples personal circumstances which, when it becomes an inconvenience, is very quickly forgotten and you end up being treated like a piece of dirt to e scraped off the corporate shoe, a more horrible, two faced environment you could never wish to work in, the site runs on fear and misery complaints are rife but because of fear and intimidation they are never pursued. For a business that is there to provide a service and be a corporate face, liaising with shop owners and the general public there is precious little of this that actually takes place. Despite an exorbitant amount of money being spent on a commercial refit of the site it leaks like an old sieve with water ingress in numerous places, this combined with the structure being riddled with asbestos and looking like Alcatraz from the outside, it does not make it a pleasant working or shopping environment. The only real emphasis is to let-out the units by any means possible and Blackburn mall has become a shopping centre of pound shops and bargain basement clothing. There are no opportunities for career progression and they are not open to new or innovative ideas of working. Health and safety is merely given lip service with no real qualified personnel able to act upon serious fire and life safety legislation, worrying given the numbers of public that are forced to work and shop there.
