Pros
This place has great owners/leadership in the Edwards family. They are fair to employees and genuinely care about the community.
The best aspect of working at the Pit Stop is flexible hours. You pick what shifts you want to work on a weekly basis.
Due to the nature of the business you get lots of perks/freebies (jackets, shirts, hats, glassware, etc.). Whether it's beer or liquor companies giving things away or the owners providing jackets and coats for the winter months, you often bring home a lot more than a paycheck every week.
There is lots of camaraderie within the staff. There are only 8-12 people employed at any given time so you get to know people really well and develop friendships.
Cons
Because of the nature of the industry, the customers are often rude/impolite. This is true for any customer service job but it seems when you add alcohol to the mix, things seem to get worse.
There's not a lot of room for growth, which is understandable. This is a carry-out so there isn't a lot of opportunity for upward mobility. It's staffed by college students and there are a lot of them around so the pool of potential employees is always flooded.
The store opens at 6am and closes at midnight everyday. Everyday. Including most holidays with the exception of sometimes they close a few hours early on Christmas Eve. Late nights & early mornings are a common thing if you are a full-time employee.
