Pros

Some of the people (not the leadership team) are wonderful people. I have some genuine friends who I made from working there.

Cons

Where do I start, and what can I say that hasn’t already been said in previous reviews? It is with deep regret that working at the RSA drove me into a deep depression - and I know that I’m not the only one. The leadership team seem absolutely hell bent on self destructing this once prestigious institution. The turnover is absolutely massive and if you’ve worked there longer than a year, you are generally considered a long term employee. This didn’t used to be the case! Once upon a time, many employees were happy and stayed for decades - this has all changed now. There are talented people who work so incredibly hard and very little is done to appreciate them. I spent many a lunch time crying in the toilet and I cried on my way home at least once a week because of the stress handed down to me, and anything I did achieve was not appreciated. The leadership team are beyond shocking. There is absolutely no concern whatsoever for wellbeing. Many people have to take time off for stress due to the shocking conditions. If you do have to take time for yourself, you are often looked down upon when you return, and it ends up being used against you later down the line. In terms of company objectives, it is constantly changing and everyone feels confused about what is actually happening or what they’re meant to be doing. The mission seems to change all the time and there is a lack of structure when it comes to employee development (there is no space or even discussion around career progression.) I’ve never felt more betrayed and humiliated in a role than when I worked at the RSA. I’m now slowly trying to find my spark again and I’m so thankful to have left. Please - if you’re considering working here, I beg you to think again! All of the poor reviews on here are linked to the same patterns. Workplace bullying is not a joke - it has affected who I am as a person and I urge you to not consider working here if you value your mental health.
