Pros
I am new to the school and absolutely love it. It has a real community feel. People have been very welcoming and I have been supported since I was accepted to work there.. The teachers are very busy, but they are generally happy and love what they do. Most of the staff has been at Rashi for over a decade. I am so glad I found this school! They are helping me to learn so much, and I know I will be a better teacher because I'm here.
Cons
The pay could be better, but it's a wonderful place so I don't mind. Teachers everywhere struggle with salary issues, and there are benefits to working here besides money. Personally, I'd rather have the support of the administrators and my fellow teachers (and the parents!) than more money. I'd rather be happy in my job than get paid a little more but be miserable. Because it is a Jewish school, there is less religious and racial diversity than other schools. However, it feels like there are people from different socioeconomic backgrounds, and they have a really cool Social Justice program that helps kids understand the importance of diversity and inclusion. They want to make a difference in the world.
