It seems the internet is now a place where anyone can write damning statements without any verification. Because this review borders on slander, I request anyone reading these reviews to go through all of them and see that there are many reviews that are quite complimentary along with those that go in the opposite direction. Some of the negative ones, like this one, are so extreme it would seem odd that the project wasn't shut down, yet it is thriving and growing. There are two people who keep putting up negative reviews; one is a person who was rejected in an interview and took it hard and the other is from a person connected to a religious organization that frowns upon progressive ideals and is extreme in patriarchial nature. For your own knowledge look at our website and see the difference we are making. It's unfortunate that such derogatory comments could potentially impede a project that is working to make the world a safer place for children everywhere! Because we address and study childhood trauma, it may be that the nay sayers are pushing against memories and feel the need to lash out. I don't know. Thank you, the Executive Director

Pros

In my experience at TRF, I learned about the NVC curriculum and was educated on different aspects of psychology and offered various instances to help the company beyond my role. Senior management was well-mannered and treated everyone equally and with respect as if they were peers rather than employees.

Pros

During this internship I had the opportunity to learn a lot about non-violent communication, social emotional learning, and the ACE study. I also had the chance to gain some experience in curriculum writing which was brand new for me. I was working remotely, so my hours were pretty flexible which I found helpful because I was working another job at the same time. Both of the individuals I worked under were super helpful whenever I had questions, and super receptive to any suggestions I made about the foundations current work. I had an amazing experience working for them this summer and would definitely recommend!

Cons

I did not experience any cons aside from the fact that my position was unpaid. Due to TRF being a nonprofit, and me working remotely I completely understand why it was necessary, just something to keep in mind if you have more financial commitments.
