Pros

The most talented group of team members I’ve ever worked with. The passion for change was palpable amongst us.

Cons

The company and CEO only care about where the next funding round is coming from, while portraying to the public that they actually care about making change. The CEO only cares about her public image and doesn’t want the public to know how she actually runs the company behind the scenes. The wealth of knowledge at The Riveter was used up and spit out when the C-suite got what they needed from each employee. Plans changed and employees were let go at the drop of a hat. Every day was a worry of, “am I next.” The culture was abhorrent because of the fear of job loss. If the C-suite, especially the CEO, actually listened to the talent she surrounded herself with, the company and its mission could have made it. All locations are now closing and they will exist online. They are blaming it on Covid. The financial problems existed long before the pandemic. The company spent money on multiple rebrands, multiple platforms, and multiple unnecessary changes. They gave nothing any time to work, so nothing worked. Bad business choices, lack of humanity, faux concern for change, lack of diversity, and terrible culture made this the worst place to work, when we all thought it was going to be the best.

Pros

You'll work with some of the most talented, brilliant, smart and capable women and coworkers.

Cons

Toxic. C-Suite cannot lead and does not have clear direction. C-suite holds all the power in decision making, makes unethical decisions without consulting employees who are experts in that area, and blames employees for sales problems. They hire incredibly talented folks but their talent goes to waste, as they strip you of all power/input and make you do as you are told. The culture is toxic - every single employee is impacted and all employees have to COUNSEL each other to heal and are traumatized from the C-suite leadership. Very hypocritical. Toxic white feminism runs rampant and unchecked. They talk about intersectional feminism but can seem to hire or retain women of color, and when they do hire ANYONE, C-Suite wants to hold on to all the power. They win all these awards based on connections and a false identity of their brand, all they INVEST in is how they look externally. Do not work here at all costs.
