Pros
It's certainly one of a kind. There's nowhere quite like The Spectator. Regardless of which department you find yourself in, you'll always work on fascinating projects with the most hardworking, intelligent people you'll ever meet. For the type of work The Spectator undertakes, you couldn't be in a better London location or a nicer building. Outstanding social life within the company as well – a rarity these days. There isn't a single workplace where you can have a company party and have a glass of champagne with Prime Ministers, the Archbishop of Canterbury, and a Princess from Nicaragua. If you want a job in the world of publishing and journalism, this is one of the best places to be.
Cons
- Pay needs improving - A better attitude towards flexible/remote working - I met Liz Truss way too many times for my liking - Questionable political and societal views throughout the building - There's a company bully who needs knocking down a peg - Senior members of the editorial team need to have less control over certain departments and let them do their job
