Pros

Get to make many connections. Work can be flexible as a lifeguard.

Cons

Was minimum wage, health concerns were why I left as masks weren't needed for anyone at the pool (logically this makes sense as one couldn't swim safely while wearing a mask). Again the time I left was during 2020 when Covid was bad and social distancing was not the easiest to do in the pool. No training for verbal, physical or other types of abus on employers.

Pros

Excellent opportunities to connect with folks from different backgrounds, communities, etc. Wonderful opportunities to learn, and continue to learn important skills such life saving skills. Opportunities to help people in the community. Lasting impact on people for a lifetime

Cons

Inconsistency, favoritism, constant change no one can keep up with, no empathy, no respect, no communication, toxic work environment, enabling the behavior of others while requiring regular trainings on work place harassment and actions that don’t match the company mission of healthy mind body and spirit.
