Pros

They promise you training and certifications, but follow through is tough. The people were pretty cool and it’s very team-based.

Cons

I was the only one that did the sexual harassment training on time. The supervisor said some weird stuff to me. I was told to calm down and maintain my composure, and it came from a guy who regularly hit his desk with his Cisco phone whoever he got mad. I get that it’s a casual environment but I was also casually told that I needed to sleep around more. In meetings my inexperience was regularly highlighted. A dispute arose and from what I understand, the owner asked everyone to pick a side, and the person who lost would be fired, which was me. I was asked to sign an NDA with my severance. The promises of training and certs never materialized. I was ok with losing the job but immediately the people who I thought were my friends who hung out with me on weekends blocked me on all platforms and kicked me to voicemail. Not sure which hurt more. CYA to the extreme. Supervisor is extremely overwhelmed and stressed and has a hard time managing his moods. They’ve lost a few clients in the last month.

Pros

I have been working for 318 for about three years, and the thing that stands out the most is the quality of the team that surrounds me. There are clearly strong friendships at all levels of the staff, and it's reflected in the work. It is also one of the few places that you can find the highest levels of expertise on the Mac, PC, storage, and networking sides of the field in the same organization. From a team member standpoint that really puts you on solid footing with the confidence you need to finish projects and follow through with that team, as well as learn from them. The culture also encourages strong and straightforward communication of both accolades and concerns, which I find very refreshing.

Cons

As with any consultancy, the demand can be strong at times, and it becomes important to develop the necessary skills to handle those trials. Gaining a strong understanding of tools, systems, and your peers early on can help to ease that. I also think that continuing to develop and define the system of routes to resolution with any kind of staff concern will help to improve the speed with which those concerns can be resolved. In my personal experience, the open door policy of a small business has honestly been wonderful, but I think that for different personality types a more clearly defined system would be helpful and comforting.
