Pros

If you want to do lots of volunteer work, this is a rewarding place to work....mostly for free. If you are a woman with competence issues, or drama issues, have no fear. They have a history of not firing the ones that should be fired, and many good people will be left in the dysfunctional wake. Their fear of getting slapped with a law suit by a woman supersedes their sense to maintain a good work culture and productivity.

Cons

Upper Management spends lots of time creating their own value to the company by coming up with new systems, metrics, compensation structure, etc, and it trickles down the management chain. Pay close attention to the comp. structure, and expect it will change once it is working and you are earning income. Bonuses high? Time to change the comp. structure. Middle management is always chasing its collective tail to keep up with the changes. Representatives come and go quickly because it is very difficult to make a living on the low commissions and high fees they must pay to Thrivent for such things as computer rental, investment platform access, etc.; and expect lots of meetings, and repetitive meetings, covering the same topics over and over. There were some great people in this organization out in the field. The only ones left now are the old guys (can't afford to leave because they can't take their years of clients with them), the idealists who believe in the "mission", and the desperate.

Pros

Would have been a good opportunity IF it went through.

Cons

BEWARE! They do not disclose a very long and tedious interview process. 3 interviews with a post interview call. Background check, credit check, amongst multiple items to complete in portal. Many emails to respond to. Speaking with 4+employees throughout the process. Did NOT disclose that start date was 3 months post job posting.
