Pros

Strive for excellence! Great staff and supportive! Great managers and supportive! Flexible working time! Good salary! Good software!

Cons

What I did not like and why I left: I left firstly and most importantely because of personal stuff. I did not feel comfortable disclosing my problems to my employeer. Secondary this: No learning opportunities. Courses etc. why should I stay there if no mentor even. Even do I was told on numerous times that I have exceeded anyone that had been there in my previous roles. Proof available. During the interview for my subsequent job there I was told I am not like any other apprentices answer to the question posed by me "After reading the job advert of this position I do not see any difference between what I am currently doing and what this job entails, why is that?" "You are not like any other apprentice" you excel, you have a thirst for knowledge! I got this position. On the professional development plan PDR I have never gotten more than 3 stars out of 5. And neither some people who where as me pushing themselves and excelled on a number of projects, working unpaid over the scheduled time for the cause. There is saying at TC that you will never get more than 3 stars which seems very bad if I am giving my all and what I am doing correlates to the job duties and actually exceeds them. Appreciation should be properly given should it not?! I would be interested in understanding why no one does get more than 3 stars - if it does not increase the income why not 5 appreciation we all worked harder during the pandemic - or who actually does get 5 stars and do they get more income? Not that it matters for me right now, but it matters for Thurrock Residents and for current and future staff.

Pros

As a local authority, Thurrock is committed to serving its diverse demographics.

Cons

Staff members' commitment to equality and diversity is questionable. I feel that a few key staff members fail to be inclusive and non-discriminative. Their behaviour of discrimination and oppressive practice negatively impacts the local authority's endeavours to be inclusive and diverse.
