Pros
Weekly pay, part and service discounts (not much or really worth it), no sundays.Nearly impossible to be fired, being hurt and failing a drug test, or stealing tires are the only two ways I've seen guys leave unwillingly. And apparently you can call off at anytime as long as some one is/can be scheduled in your place.
Cons
Keeping it short as possible EVERYTHING ELSE. My extended response is.. First the pay you are better off on a grill or in a drive through window. Tire tech 1 pays $9.00/hr. And I would not recommend that $9 to my worst enemy for what it's worth.. As a tire tech you are required to do everything that the commission boys (EVERY other position in the shop) doesn't want to do. All house keeping and janitorial duties are only mandatory for Tire tech bottom feeders. Service technicians get away with murder because store management needs them to accumulate REVENUE, the basis of all tire Discounters (money coming in).I am the only tire tech in the store when I'm working. Minus most Saturdays and maybe 5 hours total a week when the other tech works concurrently with me, demand>labor. I'm only allowed 35 hours weekly and absolutely NO over time.as a tire tech 3/5 I make 10.50 after tax I see about $270-280 weekly. I couldn't imagine taking on the responsibility of my daughter alone on that income and it's crazy how im expected to. There's so much more to add but I have to go back and live it tomorrow at 730am. I'm warning anyone looking for entry level work to stay far far away from this company until there is a massive reform financially for laborers...... Atleast CHIP WOOD is comfortable, that's all that matters right?
