Pros

I came through by A Recruiter, she made the seem as if would get better but I’m no stranger in the IT but I needed to work… The training was three days and it was an abysmal… somehow they expected us to pick up their entire platform and go out and train restaurant owners on this software and full install at the same time. I am fully versed in POS and it takes time in months to master and take responsibility to learn the platform train people on it execute all the installations. Basically I will set up to fail, and I was let go so cruely by a person but they had power when I was there to shadow to get experience. It is disgusting to just throw someone away when it’s someone’s livelihood… The funny part and twist Covid can just months later and I’ll secretly hope they lost what they took for me. No restaurants were opening, no one walking on the street for almost a year so I can save safely she was out of a job herself now, and I got a nice remote job during the whole crisis. Karma is a you know what

Cons

All my cons are in the pro’s section… I don’t want anyone to miss what I needed to say and this is not a revenge post this seems to follow the other post recording lack of communication and expectations. Everything I stated was the truth

Pros

The benefits and health insurance are amazing and the company culture as a whole is very positive. It was a pleasure to work with almost everyone I met in my time there.

Cons

Lower management, especially for care teams, deeply lacks integrity. Retaliatory practices, lack of communication, and failure to adhere to their own policies are very common behavior depending on who your manager is. The inconsistencies across what is expected from leadership are profound and it is disappointing how much this can derail your career trajectory at Toast. It’s also very difficult to help customers at times, as Toast is notorious for launching new products at customers and providing little to no support to agents that are then expected to troubleshoot using sparse or nonexistent resources and absolutely no training. Cross-collaboration with teams that occasionally intersect is also very challenging, particularly Sales/Onboarding and Care. There were many instances where sales and onboarding specialists set customers up with false expectations of the product, which leaves care teams to deal with the aftermath.
