I came into my first interview extremely excited about this job because the ad online said that it was a sports marketing position. Boy was I wrong. It turns out that it was not marketing at all. It is selling a package of discounted sports tickets door-to-door for $50. You go to any and all businesses such as supermarkets, wholesale stores, nail salons, department stores, etc. soliciting to both the customers and staff of the stores. During the interview, their big pitch was that you should be on track to be promoted to a manger in 7-12 months from when you start. They say that you can get rich fast because managers make over $150K. Now I am not denying that you will make that much money because I never got to the manager position but this is how they get you. They feed off of recent college grads who don't know better. They tell you that you to stay and work really hard doing door to door sales until you become a manager so that you can open up your own firm doing the same thing in another city across the United States. This job is definitely difficult as it requires you to work long hours 6 days a week (7:30AM-7PM). The job is 100% commission based until you become a manager. you get $10 for every $50 ticket package you sell starting off and it increases only few dollars per sale . There are no benefits until you become a manager and there is no paid time off because it is 100% commission based.
The breakdown of the job is as follows: PLEASE NOTE THAT THESE ARE COMMISSION BASED FIGURES, SO THEY ARE ESTIMATES FROM TRI STATE SPORTS. THE AMOUNT YOU MAKE DEPENDS ON HOW MUCH YOU SELL
Training: 6 Days - $300 (only receive after working there for 2 weeks)
Brand Ambassador: APPROXIMATELY 2-4 weeks - APPROXIMATELY $300-$600 per week
Account Manager: APPROXIMATELY 3-6 months - APPROXIMATELY $400-$800 per week
Assistant Manager: APPROXIMATELY 2-4 months - APPROXIMATELY $1,000-$2,500 per week
Manager: APPROXIMATELY 12-16 months - APPROXIMATELY $150,000 base salary
The Brand Ambassador and Account Manager positions have the same responsibilities, but you will make more money per sale depending on your position. Again, this is 100% commission. These positions are all door-to-door sales
The Assistant Manager position stays in the office and runs the office. They do not have a base salary. Their salary is dependent on the sales of the Brand Ambassadors and Account Managers
The Manager is the first position that they say has a salary.
If you want to do door-to-door sales and you do not mind 100% commission and long hours, then this may be a job for you. But this is not a sports marketing job.
