Pros

Good co-workers in the IT & PMO areas, Contractors really know their stuff and have elevated skill sets compared with others in the Industry. Pay is good as a contractor and decent as a FTE. Cuna has a nice bonus program and average benefits plus pension.

Cons

The Business areas rely WAY to much on the PMO and IT areas. If you are a BA or PM at Cuna, be prepared to do an excessive amount of hand holding with business areas. Be prepared to be on a project well past deployment and implementation. Cuna Mutual culture is the epitome of "But we've always done it that way". Be prepared for business areas really not comprehending what a BA or PM does. Business leaders speak to changes Cuna is making but it's very rarely seen. A lot of "fluff" to pump up employees. Contractors are put on projects the FTE's don't want to work on, because of various reasons including the project being set up to fail or difficult stakeholders. Management will acknowledge that specific stakeholders are "problems" but nothing is done to help the workers in the PMO or IT area. Once an employee or contractor leaves a project for political issues a new contractor is thrown into the pit. Cuna Mutual is extremely "clicky". Get ready to go back to high school. Lots of gossip between Managers, other department areas and employees. Almost all people I worked with were very fake. I was told to run away from Cuna by ex employees, I wish I would of listened. I watched an employee scream at someone from facility management because a chair was left in the hallway. Managers often change their minds and "forget" or "don't remember that outcome" from a meeting. There are also mold issues and mice issues in some of the buildings. The entire atmosphere feels "stale". I've never seen so much talk about creating progress forward with so little action to back it up. I agree with other posts that for a company this size there organizational structure is bananas. They really need to invest in a reorganization or all company areas. If that request gets documented now, it may just be approved in 5 years. PMO practices seem old and outdated. But this is being looked into by experienced team members so hopefully it will get better in the future. CUNA tends to have a lot of meetings just to have meetings which affects work getting completed on time.

Pros

Used to be a great company to work for until about a year ago.

Cons

I have worked for TruStage for over 10 years. They recently made the decision to outsource a large amount of employees to another company- Wipro. 120 people lost their jobs at Trustage and TruStage signed an non-compete between themselves and Wipro in which none of the 55 employees who got an employment offer with Wipro could be hired in any other role until September 2027. I lost my health care, my pension, and my job security and TruStage didn’t care at all. I would be wary of working for TruStage as I hear they want to expand to outsource more jobs to wipro/india. It’s a disgrace the way they handled the outsourcing of loyal, smart, successful employees.
