Pros

Working outside and with students is challenging but fun. The other guides that work there are always fantastic, and with such a high turn over rate you are always getting to know new people, Which is fun but also exhausting for the lead guides who are training a new employee every single week.

Cons

The owners and upper management clearly do not care about the guides well being, or any feedback that is given to help improve the program. They will manipulate you, using guilt and gaslighting to get what they want out of you and provide little to no support. You will be under payed, undervalued and overworked.

Pros

It is a job that allows you a full scope of care which I appreciated allowing you to be close with the kids in a setting where you really learn about mental illness/behavior patterns/ etc. It was a well run program. They seemed to truly care about the kids and it provided me with life experience/learning/lessons/relationships that I will carry with me forever.

Cons

Hard work/life balance. Seemed split between two worlds, world at home and world at work. Extreme amounts of responsibility, which can be positive but you must be up for the task.
