Pros
The pay is decent, but definitely not enough for the work required.
Cons
Extreme micro management. Unfortunately they are no longer placing importance on customer service, only numbers. Favoritism is rampant and obvious. This area borders on extreme as far as employees being required to function like robots. Coworkers are discouraged from developing personal friendships with coworkers and personal conversation between employees is STRICTLY discouraged, although you're working in a cramped cubicle environment. You LITERALLY are timed for everything, including using the copier and fax machine as well as using the restroom. Management will come looking for you when you're away from your desk more than a few minutes. , even in the restroom. Management stays logged into your computer remotely, as well as listening in on every phone call. . If you spend more than a small time frame (say 5 minutes) on phone with customers, even when strictly discussing customer banking business, you are either instant messaged or tapped on the shoulder and told to wrap it up. There is no such thing as loyalty among coworkers, it is totally an environment where management plays employees against one another and continuously. Definitely no longer an institution that cares about its employees nor its customers, when at one time it was one of the best places I have ever worked. It is disheartening to see what has happened to this department. It has become somewhat of a hostile work environment where no one can be trusted.
