Turnip Green Creative Reuse

Is this your company?

Very difficult job, not paid well, cool people though and access to so many art supplies is a plus. - Creative Reuse Specialist Turnip Green Creative Reuse Employee Review

Pros

cool coworkers, access to free and low-cost art supplies, a first look at all donations

Cons

hourly pay is not enough to live on, always understaffed with almost no urgency to hire new people, forced to take on more responsibilities with no extra pay, expected to be overworking ourselves all day long while making little progress, job is exhausting and the pay is not worth it, no health insurance, management not very receptive to negative feedback.

Pros

- amazing community with similar values (sustainability, artists) - opportunity to work with kids & elementary school students - getting to watch kids get super invested in their artwork is one of the biggest privileges i get to be a part of - working events gets you close to the community and a great way to meet people in nashville

Cons

- working with students can be exhausting but that's not surprising - lessons can be up to interpretation, takes a bit to be comfortable in front of the classroom - events can be confusing to figure out where to park, how to set-up, etc.

Pros

Turnip Green has a noble mission to educate the city about reuse, repurposing, and recycling. They care about the city and are a small but mighty force for good. I've been quickly enveloped into the Turnip Green family and feel completely supported.

Cons

Things could be a bit more streamlined. They are currently hiring someone to oversee operations to do just that.
