Pros
Looked like a good idea on paper..
Cons
Betty’s charged clients $40/hour, saying they paid a “fair wage” while paying cleaners $15/hour.. Workers had to purchase their own supplies, including insurance, & were not compensated for their time between jobs or in providing their own transportation.
Clients being deceived into thinking they were supporting young artists w/the high fees, that didn’t actually make it back to the workers.. the expectation of the outcome didn’t match the rates (a bummer to have disappointed clients who were over-promised for the quality of work; understandable since a $200 clean resulted in $60 worth of work output)
