Pros

Stable job position is the only pro here

Cons

Don't know where to start: Vancouver office got two team Ops and Dev - very contrasting working environment. Dev team would be one of the best team to work for, but working for Ops team could be a biggest nightmare for anyone and everyone, thanks to the only leadership running the whole show. Par is the name! - Micro management - Favoritism - Blame games - No appreciation - Confrontation for bad annual employee reviews - Annual salary growth of 2-3% only - Strict expectations to respect hierarchy - The only reward you get for hardworking is, getting more work and unrealistic expectation with no appreciation - Yelling, F words, humiliation are normalized and are overlooked by management and some favorite employees - Trying to run a circus to impress any executives visiting from HQ (Texas) - No growth internally, you would be discouraged from applying for any positions until you complete at least 18 months in your current position (result - people leave) No good benefits either. Throughout my career I have worked with great people and great workplaces, so do not let this place make you doubt your credibility, integrity.

Pros

BCBS insurance/decent benefits. Good amount of PTO (4 weeks to start, holidays, and 2 floating holidays). WFH M/F and as needed. Solid company so job stability is good as well, which is important in this economy. Flexible in terms of appointments and schedules. Room for growth in your position. Most of mid-level management are kind and open to listening to you.

Cons

Definitely underpays compared to the industry standard across the board. Promises more money is coming year after year, but never delivers - senior management is the roadblock here - may not be the case for all departments though. Promotion does not always equal significant/decent pay raise. No sick days - lumped in with PTO instead. However, you can WFH when sick/as needed. Recently changed health insurance to no longer cover diagnostic testing/bloodwork at 100%, so you may get hit with a couple hundred dollar bill.
