Cons
ABUSE. I would like to make people aware of a young lady slowly deteriorating from the torturous form of abuse she is subject to. 365 days per year, from 8am-9pm, she is strapped into a swing outside with insufficient clothing in all weathers, she is not permitted to come off the swing regardless of visible distress such as banging her head on metal poles. She is fed all meals outside on the swing, staff are advised not to give her attention such as pushing her on the swing as then she will become more distressed when you stop. If you ask why she can not come in they say she will just bang her head on the walls, her care plan says to put her on the swing. When she is finally allowed inside her emotional distress is clear as she bangs her head on walls, radiators and furniture. The house is not adapted to this as in her bedroom are 2 inch metal hooks which petrude from the wall. Regular staff have failed to see the obvious risk, when ask they showed me that one of the hooks were bent and they believed she did hurt herself on this once. There are another 4 service users in this house who are not safe. Neighbors have reported it to the police and social care, support workers have reported the abuse to the council, whistleblowing, CQC and the companies safeguarding department. Months, probably years have passed and there has been no action or change to the young girls life. Her physical deteriation is evident and as the winter months continue I worry that she may not make it through. Is this invisible young girl going to be left to die strapped to a swing outside? Is the obvious corruption of the company going to be continually looked over? Reporting this the traditional way clearly isn't enough. Speak for those who cannot. #savevulnerableadults
