Pros

UCLA as an employer has great access to health care via the university's strong medical program, lots of interesting events at work (on campus), and excellent coverage and benefits inclusive of the LGBT community.

Cons

The university is very large, so bureaucracy runs rampant. If you have a problem, you usually have to contact multiple departments or personnel to get it taken care of. When I was working here as a graduate student, I ran into problems consistently with getting paid or reimbursed.

Pros

Great health insurance - I'm told it's really quite fire (no lie) Great location - love Westwood (sandwiched by Brentwood, Bel Air, and Beverly Hills) Union is tremendously supportive

Cons

Campus dining options are kinda weak - breaks my heart to eat the same thing every day

Pros

Working with students is satisfying and fulfilling. It also helps yourself retain information you have learned from past courses.

Cons

The Peer Learning Unit is poorly managed, and it is difficult to communicate with your supervisors.
