Pros

Great benefits as far as retirement and healthcare. Depending on what business unit you work in, coworkers are wonderful. For the most part the company is stable (despite some layoffs). One could potentially.. maybe... stay with this company until retirement. I still recommend it as a starting point for anyone's career despite any complaints I may have.

Cons

I don't know that management is competent. I question their decisions buying company after company, some of whom are taking a nose dive, but then stressing how the company is missing its revenue goals and then laying people off. Well... duh. Management seems pretty tight, very old school and that's not good. Opinions and thoughts of the "little worker bees" do not seem to matter.

Pros

UL solution was my first office job and engineering experience. It did not disappoint, and got me excited for my future, The HR and hiring team were all so nice and helpful throughout my internship. My managers were helpful, patient, and understanding when I had a family emergency near the end of my internship that forced me to leave the country temporary. The internship showed the various departments in the company, not just the one we had applied for. Would definitely recommend anyone to apply for them.

Cons

UL solutions is focused in certifications and safety, so if you are expecting projects involving development and design this is not the place, We had to do a breakdown on products and perform tests to ensure it meets standards of safety.

Pros

Strong brand reputation and credibility in the marketplace. Excellent opportunity to gain experience in sales, compliance, testing, certification, and regulatory industries. Friendly, knowledgeable, and collaborative colleagues who are willing to help each other succeed. Good work-life balance compared to many sales organizations. Stable business with diverse industries and customers. Professional development opportunities and exposure to complex customer challenges.

Cons

Typical large-company bureaucracy can slow decision-making and execution. Internal processes and approvals may require patience and persistence. Organizational complexity can sometimes create challenges when navigating cross-functional initiatives. Career progression may occasionally depend on understanding and adapting to corporate dynamics.
